1 tablet per day, can be sucked, chewed or swallowed whole. Excessive use may have laxative effects.

Physiological effects

• Adequate intake of vitamin D should be provided throughout life. Vitamin D is formed by the effect of sunlight on the skin. Vitamin D is obtained from fatty fish, fish oil, eggs, mushrooms, and fortified foods such as milk and margarine. The intake of vitamin D by Finns has been found to be too low. The recommended dose of vitamin D is 7,5 micrograms / day for those aged 2 to 17 years, 10 micrograms / day for those aged 18 to 74 years, and 20 micrograms / day for those over 75 years of age. Vitamin D supplementation of 10 micrograms / day is recommended for pregnant and lactating mothers throughout the year.
• As dietary sources of vitamin D are relatively scarce, vitamin D supplementation is recommended throughout the year, especially for children, adolescents, the elderly, and pregnant women. Vitamin D is recommended as a dietary supplement for almost everyone, especially during the dark season (October-March).
• Vitamin D has a beneficial effect on the immune system by maintaining good resistance and is important for bones, teeth, muscles, mood and hormonal function. Vitamin D promotes calcium absorption and maintains calcium balance.
• Xylitol, or birch sugar, is nature’s own sweetener, which is present in small amounts in e.g. in berries and fruits. It is a tooth-friendly sweetener that produces about 40% less energy in the body than regular sugar. The use of xylitol after meals and snacks significantly prevents the formation of tooth decay. The most favorable effect is obtained when the tablet is sucked.
