Additional information

  • The rich nutrients of marine vegetation are concentrated in seaweed. For millennia, people have used seaweed to supplement their diet because of its nutritional richness.
  • Seaweed is an excellent source of iodine. Iodine contributes to the normal thyroid and nervous system function, energy-yielding metabolism and cognitive function. Iodine also contributes to the maintenance of normal skin.
  • The most common sources of iodine in the Finnish diet are milk and milk products, fish, eggs and iodized table salt, as well as foods containing it (e.g. bread). The total intake of iodine per day, including intake from food and nutritional supplements, should not exceed 600 μg/day.
  • Kelpamax seaweed tablets are intended to supplement a normal diet. The product contains a standardised amount of iodine 150 µg / tablet.
